Course Overview: 

French Reading 101 is a foundational course designed for beginner French immersion students who are ready to build confidence in reading through sound recognition and decoding strategies. This course introduces learners to the beauty of the French language by developing their phonological awareness, alphabet mastery, and sound blending skills in a progressive and interactive way.

Students begin by learning individual letter sounds and how each letter is pronounced in French. They gradually move toward simple syllable blending patterns such as CV (consonant vowel), VC, and CVC words , and then progress to combined and complex sounds like ch, ou, on, an, eau, ai, and gn.

Through fun reading exercises, short decoding activities, and engaging visual support, students learn how to connect letters to sounds, recognize patterns, and read simple French words and sentences fluently.
